30 Days of Photographs II - From an Ant's Perspective

This challenge brought to you by Ziva and Mike poses a theme for each day of the month.

While my photos may be more suitable for fire kindling, please check out the other lunatics that signed on for this!!!

From an Ant's Perspective

Taking pictures for this theme was a lot of fun for me and I had a hard time selecting one photo. This one won over my others because I like the depth of field at play.

  1. Funny that I almost went with a this kind of shot too. It's a great perspective and one we tend to forget.

    1. I took this as I was going inside just to see if it would turn out. Luckily it did.

  2. I was thinking of that whole "Just what makes that little old ant..." idea with the tree as well. Nice one! :)

    1. Now I wish I had a rubber tree - whatever that is!

  3. I love this pic. Your ant is lucky to have such a great view!

    1. Thanks duf! Better than the view from inside my vacuum hose!

  4. I like the top of the tree, how it forms a circle. My photo was similar to yours in that I was thinking from the ground up. I guess a few of us went with that (not surprisingly) but with what each of us came up was surprising.

    1. The tree was just budding and it really isn't very tall. I really like the variety of entries, too!

  5. I had a few like this, not as good mind, love the angle of the trunk. Tell you what, it is one brave ant that climbs that tree.

    1. Interesting as it is a straight trunk - maybe just the focus gives that look to it.

    1. Thanks! Dare I ask which one of you thought of this topic???

    2. If you like it, it was me, of course. If you hate it, it was Ziva, who has a lot of terrible ideas and probably shouldn't be allowed near pets and small children.

  7. I LOVE that perspective! That of the ant. It is a big world, and I am not as large in it as I purport to be...

  10. I had to take a break from looking at all of these photos - it was rather dizzying.

I really like this - nicely done!

    1. Makes you think twice before you squish your next bug, doesn't it?

  12. Doesn't your neck hurt after that shot? I know it does. Deny it all you want, but I can imagine you out there with your neck craned up toward the sky! You have a heating pad on your neck right now, don't you? Admit it. However, you got a damn good photo! Congrats!

  13. I'll go with that thought especially if it gives me a good reason to have a crappy photo for tomorrow. I would have taken a better picture, but my neck is really hurting. Thanks.

  14. I LOVE THIS. I struggled with the ant one. I had so many ideas and they just didn't turn out. Yours is PERFECT - something I would have loved to capture!

  15. That's some big wood, and I know my wood. Nice.

  16. I like where the camera focused :)

  17. I love how the focus remains sharp for much of the length of the trunk, just losing enough at the very top... but the contrast of the branches against the cloudy sky makes the branches really stand out too! Neat balancing act! :-)
