30 Days of Photographs II - Lines

Lines

You really have to enlarge this to see exactly why I picked this tree.

(Sorry, I don't know why this didn't post...blogger changes suck!)
These characters all have some interesting lines. Watch out at the local bar!

  1. Wow! That's a great capture. I wonder how many names are carved into that poor tree? (Looks like it's holding up well.)

I love those roots even better than the carvings.

    1. I love the roots too which is why I didn't crop them out.

  2. Man! People went to town carving on that poor tree. I think that has to be the scariest bunch of roots I've ever seen. I would not go near the thing myself! Great photo!

    1. No surprise. It is on a hiking path in my favorite park - same park most of the outdoor pic were taken.

  6. This tree has the scars of many battles on it, yet it seems to wear them proudly. This is one of my favorite pictures of yours.

  8. What an amazing root system this tree has. And that so many people have carved their names into it only makes it more interesting. Where do you live, anyway? In a swamp? Turtles, weird trees....

    1. Yes, I live in a swamp. I have to pedal this darn bicycle really hard to keep the power to my dial-up modem working. Can't wait for this competition to end cause my legs are tired.

  12. Do fairies and gnomes live in that tree? That is a magical tree! Gorgeous photo! So do you live in swampy country?

  13. I think elves are more likely. No swamps - it's in a pretty park.
