30 Days of Photographs II - Silence

This challenge brought to you by Ziva and Mike poses a theme for each day of the month. While my photos may be more suitable for a trash bin, please check out the other participants!!!

Silence

It seems to me that as this post is about Silence, I think I'll let the photo speak (ha!) for itself today. Click on it if you wish to enlarge the image. Feel free to post a question in the comments.

  1. Very pretty! Obviously not as wonderful as my cat picture, but close. Very close. :-)

    Where is that?

    1. Nothing could be as wonderful as a cat picture (cough cough choke choke). This was taken at a local park in the Japanese Gardens. The stepping stones cross a huge pond full of large koi.

  2. This has the quality of environmental art. Very Zen.

  4. What are those UFOs doing in the water? Very odd. ;)

Very nicely done. Michael said we weren't in a competition, but methinks otherwise.

    1. The UFO's are looking for my "daughter" to take her back to her home planet. Of course mike said that - he thinks he has already won.

  5. Really nice photo! The colors are so crisp! What are those things in the water?

    1. Thanks, Linda. The water was actually really murky with pollen scum. They are stepping stones across a huge koi pond.

  6. Trash bin?! Ha! That's beautiful and very interesting. I love that we have to use our imagination as to where this intriguing path leads. Good job!

  8. I'm looking at this photo, and all I can see is me, falling off one of those stones and becoming fish food. That said, I love it, water has always represented silence and tranquility for me. Great job!

    1. No worries - the water is only inches deep - it's all an illusion...

    2. I thought the same thing. If there were a theme called "splash" this would work for me because I have crappy balance.

      Beautiful picture!

  9. I like the contrast of the stones against the colours of the water, pond scum included! Nicely done.

    1. Thanks! It is actually a busy spot and usually there are splashes on all of the stones. I was glad that it was hot and sunny and the stones were bright.

  10. I love it, I've probably only ever walked over stepping stones two or three times in my life, and it was never silent, but this is very, very quiet ;)

    1. Thanks. I had hoped that the stones would look inviting instead of creepy.

  13. I love this photo! It's very quiet, and it leads the eye -- and feet -- to a quiet place. Nice work.

  14. Love your photo! However, in my case, if I walked on those stepping stones, it wouldn't be silent. It would be sloshing, thrashing and screaming!

  15. Very serene. Did you actually walk across?

  16. I love how the water , though still, has all the dynamic power in the photo: grades of color, shadows and reflections and, how it contrasts with the stolidity of the stepping stones. Very cool photo :-)
