30 Days of Photographs II - Waiting

Waiting

This guy was just hanging out in the pond lazily waiting for a fly to land. He looked bored, in fact, and probably would have preferred for me to hand feed him.

If you don't want to wait around here, check out the other participants in this 30 day challenge.

  1. Oh, that's a great shot. The flight, the shadow, everything. Thank God t's not a cat or a beaver! Thank you.

    1. Thanks you. I took it with my phone and wasn't sure how it would turn out.

  2. LOL @ Dufus.

And, at first, I thought that was a dead frog. Glad he's just waiting for a fly!

    1. I thought it was dead when I first saw it and actually had my hubby get the skimmer net. The frog finally started swimming around and went back in hiding.

  3. I feel like I'm there. Very cool. Even though I hate frogs.

    1. Why do you hate frogs? Were you traumatically peed on by one?

  4. That is a very good shot, especially because of the shadow, but also the algae. I just wish you could have a cat or a beaver in the shot. That would have made it perfect ;).

    1. The shadow is my favorite part. Could the cat or beaver be under the water?

  5. Interesting that in the shadow the frog doesn't seem to have a head. I hope this isn't a sign that something bad is going to happen to froggy.

    1. The pond curves upward where that part of the shadow is. I hope it isn't an omen too!

  6. That is one lazy frog! He needs to be up and about chasing flies if he wants to eat! Sheesh!

    Great photo!

    1. I've never had one of the frogs just float around like that. Usually when you get about 15 feet away they jump for cover.

  7. What a pretty frog. I sure hope you kissed him after you took the photo. ;)

    1. Damn! Wished I had thought of that. Guess I'll have to keep my prince of a hubby.

  8. Correct me if I'm wrong but is that frog actively jumping in this shot? If not, there's a super frog hovering over him, casting a shadow!

  9. IT's a bird, it's a plane, it's SuperFrog! No, he's just sunning while floating.

  10. Maybe he'd had a bad day. I'm disgusted that you didn't snatch some flies out of the air with your bare hands and feed the poor chap.

    1. Disgusted??? Wow, I've really let you down...think I'll go eat some worms...

  11. I love frogs. I haven't seen one in years, though. I think they're vanishing from the planet. You're lucky to still have them around.

    1. We get them in the pond most every year. One year they laid eggs and I had to play tadpole rescue with our daughter who didn't want any to be eaten by the fish.

  12. I think your frog is taking a different approach while waiting for his pray: he's playing possum. Smart frog. Nice shot.

  13. This is oddly soothing. He looks quite insane. I feel better about my mental health already.

Sweet shot & love that shadow.

    1. Glad that we (the frog and I) could help. That'll be $150.
