I Wasn't the One Blowing Chunks at the Concert

Last night was a blast!

Guess why...go on, take a guess.

No not that. I mean, really? You think I'm gonna kiss and tell?

Need a hint?

Okay.

Jumbo-tron shot

Got it???

Another hint?

Okay.
Another Big Screen shot

One more?
What I could see if I were 8 feet tall

I got to see the Avett Brothers!!

It was wonderful to spend the evening with The Hubby. We went out to eat and then decided to go to the concert.

The decision to attend wasn't easy. The weather here has been really bad with storms popping up with dangerous winds and lightning. Lightning still scares the crap out of me, so the thought of standing in a crowded field during a storm really had me on edge. My desire to see the band won and when it looked like the storms would be farther away, we got tickets. This was even after the opening act had finished playing.

It did rain a little during the show and I kept my eyes on the clouds, but managed to remain calm and greatly enjoyed the music. We danced and sang and didn't even get phased when the girl next to me puked beer all over the ground. Been there, done that, grown up in spite of it.

I'm hoping to regain my hearing and the use of my left knee before the weekend is over. We may be getting older, but we can still party on!!

    1. It was a much needed night of pure fun - something I hadn't had in quite some time!! We can usually hear some of the concerts from our back deck, but it is much better to be there.

    1. Oh yes! That not puking and still being able to remember the concert the next day is such a better way to spend the time.

  5. I missed my chance to see them when they came here a couple weeks ago, which is terrible not just because of that, but because City and Colour, my favorite artist of all time, was opening for them. Still kicking myself over that one.

    1. It was fun! The storms at night here have been pretty intense at times and this weekend is the anniversary of our fire storm, so we are on edge. I could not have handled being in a field during a storm.

  7. Glad you enjoyed the concert in spite of the weather. I'm scared of lightning, too, so I understand your trepidation.

  9. Sounds like you still got! I think I was the oldest person at the last concert I went to. I felt a little out of place. Oh well!

    1. We weren't the oldest but the kids around me were young enough to be my children! Course, my kids didn't want to go with us, so they missed out!

  12. SWEET SWEET SWEET! We drove right in to a terrible lightening storm this weekend... it was SO SCARY getting out of the car to race to the house. I am WITH you on that!

  13. How fun! I have gotten to the point that I can't deal with crowds, but I still love music! We went to see Prince in concert a couple of years ago and he's amazing!
