They crawled up there just so I could get them all in the shot - had them all scooch over to make sure that I didn't cut anyone's head off in the framing.
Oh, turtles! We don't have those in Finland, but when I went to Greece last summer, we saw some there. They were busy getting it on, though. Are you sure that's not what these guys are doing, too? ;)
They crack me up, they really do. You should have blown up and let go a balloon, then watched their heads slowly follow it (in unison) as it drifts across the water.
What a great shot and perfect for the theme! I like the turtle on the top, looking like he's just conquered the Rock of Gibraltar! (I would have said "Mount Everest" but there's no snow.)
No joke, I haven't seen a turtle in the wild since I was about 7 years old. They're so awesome, and I can't believe you have so many. I'm really jealous of you.
You and Mike need to get out more. Come to the mid-Atlantic and see our turtles. Actually go to the Cayman Islands - they have better turtles and beaches.
Wow. I really didn't think about this as being anything but a normal water sight. Makes me rethink about how different our species are across the country.
Great shot! I wish we had turtles around here. They're so photogenic.

DeleteOh that' a terrific pic. I love it. I feel like those guys today.
ReplyDeleteWhy? Are you sunning on a rock?

ReplyDeletePerhaps - it is Spring! No turtles makes me sad - I'll bring you some!
DeleteI don't know where you live, but I'm jealous. Sunlight: haven't seen that in a while.
ReplyDeleteVirginia. Oh, we've grown gills from all of the rain lately. I took this shot when I took my first photo for this "contest."
DeleteWhoa. Are those turtles exposing themselves?
ReplyDeleteSo... you've resorted to turtle p*orn.
Nice.
*grin*
I always thought Yertle was a kids' book. Who knew?
DeleteIf this was turtle porn, some of those turtles would have come out of their shells.
ReplyDeleteYou know, Nude is the theme in a few days...
DeleteWhat an AWESOME photo. I love turtles!
ReplyDeleteI like them except for snapping turtles and those tend to get in people's yards around here!
DeleteI am very fond of turtles and they make great models. Nice photo! Really nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda! I like them almost as much as frogs.

ReplyDeleteReally??!? I've got to go try that!!! Will probably get arrested for littering in the pond, but it'll still be fun!

ReplyDeleteYes! They remind me of kids playing "king of the mountain."

ReplyDeleteThat is really weird to me. This is such a common sight around here that it didn't seem that anyone would find it unusual.
DeleteI'm with MikeWJ. I don't think I've ever seen that many turtles in one place in my entire life.
ReplyDeleteYou and Mike need to get out more. Come to the mid-Atlantic and see our turtles. Actually go to the Cayman Islands - they have better turtles and beaches.
DeleteSo are we invited over for turtle-watching, or not?
DeleteThey DO brighten my day. Love it. I don't know anyone else who has turtles for neighbors. That's pretty darn cool.
ReplyDeleteWow. I really didn't think about this as being anything but a normal water sight. Makes me rethink about how different our species are across the country.
DeleteI need a tan. Think one more would be too crowded?
ReplyDeleteI love these guys. I see them all the time when kayaking. The brave ones stare me down but most slide into the water when I approach.
