Ordinary Matters
I spent some time finally cleaning up and straightening all of my glass supplies. Among the boxes I found this green box full of mostly reject beads that I had made. This was a box that I didn't even know that we still had, so it was a pleasant surprise. I don't know when I will or if I ever will start making beads again, but the pretty colors filled me with joy as I gazed into the box.

Let's see what the other non-ordinary people have posted for today's challenge:
That reminds me of my fishing tackle box...sort of. Amazing colours.
ReplyDeleteExactly! It opens up and you just like looking at all of the little pretties!
DeleteYou made these beads? They're gorgeous. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. I hope to do it again someday, just not ready to have a blazing torch in front of me.
DeleteThose are the rejects? Wow. I'd love to see the ones that were accepted.
ReplyDeleteI got many more rejects than keepers. I like to experiment and that can lead to lots of extra attempts.
DeleteLovely picture. I particularly like the green box and the way green frames all the other colors. Provides an organic touch.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think that is what got me to take the picture that day.
DeleteWhat a lovely colorful photo! Your beads look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! I love the colors of glass and could stare at them all day.
DeleteThat's a really pretty photo! I love all the colors! Brightened up my whole day.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are what I love about it all!
DeleteI love it that you make your own beads. Most people just buy them. I've never made anything with beads, but I've spent quite a bit of time in bead shops. I'm fascinated by them, and have purchased them for other people. My son took it up, for example, so I got him all sorts of really cool beads that he make jewelry with.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm just rambling now. Anyway, I like your photo.
I don't make much with them either as is evident by my reject box being so full.
DeleteEverything about this is lovely. Apart from the fish bead, that freaks me out completely...
ReplyDeleteKidding about the fish, that's probably my favourite...
If you look at the lower right corner there is an ice cream sundae and some beer.
DeleteI was going to ask. I'd recognize that foam anywhere.
DeleteThat is a really pretty shot! The compartments really enhance all the colours. I can't believe you make them yourself and that these are mostly reject beads. They're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of them in the box - which is where they'll stay...poor little rejects.
DeleteGems from the past - they're very nice, even for rejects! They look a little time consuming to make, but I guess you don't "bead" around the bush. Nice photo!
ReplyDelete;-)
I love creative people! How can people not create beautiful things? Your beads are wonderful and I would love to see you making some of those. Great picture. My eyes want to stay busy busy busy. So much loveliness to look at!
ReplyDeleteI love boxes full of little things like this. My mother used to keep a tin full of miscellaneous buttons. It always seemed like a treasure chest to me when I was a kid!
ReplyDeleteSweet find. That would tickle me, um, green?
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful beads! Wow, you're quite talented. Must have been like finding hidden treasure! I linked to your blog on my post today, sharing your comment about having your date night interrupted because your son locked everyone, including the sitter (his uncle) out of the house! Thanks for sharing your parenting story with me!
ReplyDeleteYou MADE those beads? They are beautiful!!! Beautiful!!! I used to make necklaces with glass beads - back in my younger years. ahhhh... the younger years. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is my VERY FAVORITE picture out of all in this subject. BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty beads. I'd love to learn to do that. Great pic too. :) I can see you're having fun with this challenge. You are good at what you do.
