Somebody Stop Me!

Oh dear me...I keep on thinking.

It is a dangerous thing and has lead me to several recent ideas.

Concerning the Holidays: I really have not found a way to thoroughly enjoy this holiday season. But I am coming to terms with what I can enjoy. First, we put the leg lamp in the window, so my holiday decorating is done. Phew! It was just simply exhausting watching the Hubby climb the ladder and plug in the lamp.

In addition, our kids have really reached the point of "ownership saturation". That is the term I am going to use for those who do not need a single thing. This year they have each picked one item to receive for Hanukkah and one item for Christmas. The rest of the money that would have been spent buying stuff that they don't want or need is going to the charity of their choice. This grand gesture has pretty much relieved me of all shopping - which is something that I loathe at this time of year - can't stand the rude crowds.

Yay! I'm pretty much done for the holidays with the exception of buying toys for some of the little people in our lives and that trip will be fun!!! Our criteria for shopping for other's children is that the gift must be messy, noisy, or both messy and noisy.

Concerning my blog: I appreciate all of the comments that you gave me concerning the status of this blog. I think that for now I will keep it and probably post every now and again as the mood strikes. It will probably not happen very often, but it is nice to have the outlet, and I really love hearing from you in the comments.

Concerning me: I have decided to open my own home-based business after the start of the year. It will probably consume a lot of my time in the start-up process, which will lead to less time on the internet. However, as I will probably need to develop a facebook page for the business, I am going to start with one for myself so that I understand the process before I start a business one. All too logical, no?

So there you have it.

Maybe since my heart is three sizes too small, my brain has been deprived of the necessary blood flow...

  1. As you may know, my house is undergoing a fairly significant renovation to the kitchen. As a result, the first floor is off-limits and we've been living on the 2nd floor (I feel like Anne Frank-without the Nazis). What I'm getting at is...Christmas? There's something called Christmas going on?
As far as that leg lamp...? Sweet. All I have is a pair of boxer shorts with a leg lamp on them.

  4. Ownership saturation...

    Brilliant. And so, SO true.

And yet... there are several things under the tree for all. *sigh*

  5. I love your term of ownership saturation; I like having them choice two gifts and then helping out the less fortunate. I think it was wise to keep your blog going when you feel like writing in it. Good luck with your new adventure! I'm sure you will be successful!
