30 Days of Writing Minus 2 - Haven

Haven

Dear Abby, Dear Abby,

 A haven I seek

I’ve been writing this song for almost a week

It’s getting harder and harder to put this in rhyme

Only 22 more days to kill at this time

Signed, Just Tired

Now go visit Nicky and Mike and see who else created something for you to read...

  1. Bless you, you sound as tired as me. Is it March yet? Indigo

  4. If I had to think of rhymes every day, I'd be tired, too.

  5. Your post made me yawn. Then I wanted a prawn. This has got to stop. I'm off to the store to shop.

  7. In old Khartoum where the roses bloom and the living is sweeter than candy,
We'll loll for a while on the banks of the Nile, and look at whatever is dandy.

I don't even know where that came from! But I'm tired now too.

  9. See the market place in Old Algiers
    Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
    You belong to me

I have no explanation for why that verse from another song leapt to mind -- perhaps it's related to Meleah's comment mentioning Khartoum -- but then I have no explanation for almost anything.

  11. You've found a fun way to go about this. Lacking such cleverness, I've elected to only do one a week. ;)

    1. Probably more desperation than cleverness. I couldn't see into the prompts this time around.

  13. I love these, LM. You're probably having the toughest time of anyone with this challenge because of this running style. I'm impressed with your ability and admire your dedication. That being said, you're at the front of the angry mob in my nightmares. And you carry a really big stick. :-)

  14. I have yet to try rhyming... I am afraid, very afraid!! Because people like you are good at it and me...? Not so much! :)

  15. I'm tired, too - and in pity mode. Just pointing this out so people will feel sorry for me. :(

  16. "Signed, Just Tired". I entirely relate. I'm also still entertained by the daily song homage.
