I took several pictures for today's theme and rejected a bunch. There was a softly lit candle, which was boring and very static. I found some burned pieces of our roof in a mulch bed, but that was just too sad. I even took a picture of the bottles of hot sauce at the grocery store, but I didn't like it except for its humor. I then fell for this photo as it encompassed the colors and movement of fire without actually burning. I hope it conveys well.

Please head over to these other fine non-competitors to see why I win:
Completely understand why this theme wouldn't excite you after that. However, I think you did the theme justice (more than justice) with this photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm kind of thinking that whoever came up with this theme should be flogged and disqualified from the non-contest.
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing shot! Good thinking "outside the box"!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. I don't think that I've ever been IN the box!
DeleteThis is a great picture. It reminds me of some of the paintings of Georgia O'Keefe.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stephen. I love her work.
DeleteThat is pretty. I love flowers. And it makes me think my "Flamepoint Siamese" possibly, however small, maybe...has some merit here. :)
ReplyDeleteYou can come and it on the "out of the box" sofa with me and we will drink lots of alcohol. :)
The out-of-the-box sofa...is that like the "Group W" bench? Even if it is, I'll go if there's alcohol.
DeleteWhat a beautiful idea you came up with!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Tulips are one of my favorites.
DeleteI was wondering how you would deal with today's theme and you've done it very well. Really beautiful photo!
ReplyDelete;-)
Thanks. I struggled until this idea came to mind.
DeleteToday must be kind of painful for you. I think your picture is a most acceptable interpretation of today's theme. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThanks duf! It's not my favorite thing to look at but is not too real on the computer screen.
DeleteI've been thinking about you leading up to today's theme. That you chose to post a life-enriching photo that evokes the power and dance of fire is brave. The photo itself is simply stunning.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for all of that! You are too kind.
Delete:-) You win!!
ReplyDeletePearl
p.s. Fire is not your friend, but you handle it well.
I absolutely LOVE what YOU did with today's theme. You're amazing. And you "rock the casbah!"
ReplyDeleteThis is just so incredibly beautiful..
ReplyDeleteBlogger isn't letting me reply to comments now.So,
ReplyDeletePearl - Thank you! Hear that everyone? Pearl says that I win!!!
Meleah - Thanks sweetie! That song suits me better than "burnin down the house!"
Ziva - Thank you so much!
That is a gorgeous photo, LaughingMom, and I totally forgive you for not wanting to take a picture of actual fire. Fire has not been your friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike and I totally forgive you for the theme.
DeleteConveys well? It conveys originality and is so unique. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mo! Glad you like!
DeleteBeautiful and a great take on the theme. I'm sorry about your house. That sounds devastating. This photo is much happier.
ReplyDeleteI like to go to my happy place now and then.
DeleteI have never seen a more beautiful fire! I don't blame you for wanting a different perspective on fire. Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Malisa! It sort of works for the theme.
DeleteI know this was a tough one for you, but you knocked it out of the park. Stunning. Absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteYeah. You win. :-)
Nicky, I'm glad that you have finally admitted defeat. Now you can just relax for the next 12 days and have a drink or two.
DeleteOh Hugs girl. That photo is perfect. And I do mean perfect. xo
